HP Autonomy came to Volunteer

Thanks HP Autonomy!

On Wednesday 24th September, two teams of volunteers from HP Autonomy came to volunteer in the Margaret Wright Community Orchard.

When the local volunteers returned from their summer breaks, we found that the nettles and brambles had started to take over the site again.  So, the visit from the volunteers at HP was perfectly timed.

They cut back the brambles and nettles.

They even dug over this section to put in a picnic lawn.

And finally planted daffodil bulbs and soft fruit bushes. Gooseberries, Red Currants, Tayberry and Logan Berry bushes were made possible through a donation from HP!

In the spring this area will be full of flowers!

Abbey People can't thank the team from HP Autonomy enough for all of their hard work.

Summer in the Orchard

Margaret Wright Community Orchard

We had a busy summer in the Community Orchard!

Volunteers from Cambridge Besom came to help clear the site.

We built a bug hotel with local children.

We planted grass seed, wildflowers and salad veg on the top of the bug hotel, so watch this space to see what grows!
